Blog and SteamVR Tracking License
Blog
Welcome to the Talaria VR development blog! I’m Peter Hollander, an independent hardware and software developer working on virtual reality products and content. This is going to be a place where I share with the community our progress and development of Talaria brand hardware and software. I hope to use this blog as an open documentation of our work, as well as a strong connection with the passionate community that surrounds the VR medium. I’m looking forward to sharing our development with the world!
SteamVR Tracking License
This week I’ll be heading over to Seattle to receive Valve/Synapse’s SteamVR Tracking license (hooray!). What that entails is that following the training, I will be licensed to take or create any physical object in the real-world, and motion capture it to be positionally tracked using Valve’s Lighthouse SteamVR Tracking system. This opens up a HUGE door of possibilities, primarily considering the ability to create custom tracked objects for virtual reality.
So over the following week I plan to document my experience with the training itself, sharing as much content as I can. And looking forward, I also intend to post my exploration and development with the SteamVR Tracking technology.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me here on the blog or in an email to blog@talariavr.com with any questions, comments, or chit-chat!
Hey – just wanted to let you know that I have been waiting for any updates on your blog, super interesting stuff – can’t wait to see what you are building with the tech!
Keep up the good work – and us non-VIPs in the loop :)
Cheers,
Dom
